QotD: My First Car
What was your first car?
My first car was a 1984 Crown Victoria. It was dark red...I'd call it more "brick red" than "maroon." I remember it well. For some reason what comes to mind was me, my best friend at the time, Cherie, and her best friend, Shelly, all riding around in the front seat. Nothing was wrong with the back seat, but for whatever reason we all ended up in the front. I also remember telling my parents that me and Cherie were going to a movie, but instead we went riding and I ended up getting stuck in a ditch. Whoopsie!
The Crown Vic met with her unfortunate end when one rainy day I took out two phone poles with her. Knocked out power and phone service for several people, a couple of whom I went to school with. I did two 360's and a 180 before the car finally came to a stop. When I "came to" (I wasn't hurt but I remember raising my head and opening my eyes after the car stopped) there was a telehone pole laying beside the car.
Not a good feeling. However, I also leared the value of insurance...those damn poles were worth about 6 grand. Yeesh.
